Laura Aquili and Ergian Alberg are the designers of SIGMY coffee table in curved glass.
They were born respectively in 1973 and 1972. After enriching work experience in several international offices, such as Zaha Hadid Architects, OMA, Unstudio and Fuksas, they started in 2006 the AquiliAlberg Studio, dealing with architecture, design and graphic design.
They use and experimental and innovative approach which combines the highly technological experience acquired abroad with their background rooted in architecture, graphic design, art and design.
Moroso, Corian, Serralunga, Ritzenhoff and FIAM are some of the prestigious companies they have worked for and for which they took part to several trade fairs.
In 2009 the Milan Municipality has awarded them with the 2008 “Imprese Creative e innovative” award.
They write for several Italian magazines and newspapers such as Il Sole 24 Ore, Interni and l’ARCA. They have also started a blog in collaboration with NOVA100 of Il Sole 24 Ore entitled “Des-art-chitecture” dealing with “Emotional, digital and technological cross-pollination between design, art and architecture”.
Their projects have been reviewed nationally and internationally. They have also taught “Theoretical background on the influence of digital technology on society, culture & architecture” in Holland at the TUDelft in the Master Program “Hyperbody” of Kas Oosterhuis.
