Designer Elena Salmistraro
Product designer and artist, she lives and works in Milan.
She graduated in industrial design at the Politecnico di Milano and in 2009 founded her studio that works in architecture and design, collaborating as a product designer and illustrator with many companies in the creative industry.
She is interested in developing work that combines illustration, design, and visual arts, through which she intends to define a personal code of communication.
Among the priorities of her creations, emerge attention to detail and the harmonious search for forms pursued in anthropomorphism and primitivism. An excess of graphic symbols gives the object a stereoscopic image, transporting it into a territory suspended between fantasy and reality.
Her designs have been selected for several international exhibitions.
In 2017, he won the “Salone del Mobile Milano Award” as “Best Young Designer”. Since 2017, the Ministero degli affari esteri appointed her as the Ambassador of Italian design in the world.
In 2018 she was appointed Ambassador of Brera Design District. Also in 2018, she won the “Icon Award” at Marmomac (Verona).
In 2020, with the Chimera project designed for Cedit-Ceramiche d’Italia, she won the important international “Good Design Awards”.
In 2021 the Spire washbasin designed for Ceramica Flaminia won the prestigious “ADI Ceramic & Bathroom Award”.
